Must Watch of the Day: Tonight is an historical night. At long last, David Letterman will finally air the controversial Bill Hicks monologue that was censored and left to gather dust in the Late Show vaults for some 15 years. Hicks’s mother Mary will introduce the clip, which was recorded 5 months before Hicks passed away.
Above: His Late Show routine has never been shown, but the documentary Outlaw Comic ran footage of Hicks performing the same material Letterman didn’t want America to see. The documentary itself only aired once, on the now-defunct Trio network.
UPDATE: Letterman apologizes for taking Hicks out of the show; calls it “an error in judgement.”
